Victorian Kendo Championships 2009

Otsuka Memorial Taikai

The Melbourne Budokai will be holding the annual Otsuka Memorial Taikai at the Kenshikan Dojo on 19th July. The taikai celebrates the founding of the Kenshikan Dojo and is held in honour of Mr. Kenshiro Otsuka, the primary benefactor of the Kenshikan Dojo. The taikai is a goodwill event which is open to all Victorian kendoka.

After the taikai, MBK will be organising a dinner and screening of a Budo movie. People are welcome to stay and join in. There will be a small fee to cover the cost of the catering for dinner.

Hakamada Sensei visit - training for Dan grades

Hakamada sensei from Nittaidai (Nippon Sport Science University) will be in Melbourne on Friday 10 July. He will be visiting facilities around Melbourne in advance of a tour by Nittaidai students in 2010. Fortunately, Yano sensei has asked Hakamada sensei to bring his bogu and as such there will an opportunity for a 1 hour training session with Hakamada sensei for DAN Grades only at Kenshikan. Please come along!
