University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne Kendo Club is one of the larger Kendo Clubs in Victoria. The very first training can be dated back to May 1989. The majority of the members are University students, but the club welcomes all who are interested in practicing and learning Kendo.

Officially recognised by and affiliated with:
Melbourne University Sports Association (MUSA), Victorian Kendo Renmei (VKR), Australian Kendo Renmei (AKR) and the International Kendo Federation (IKF)

The first training session of what was to become the University of Melbourne Kendo Club was held in the Fred Tait Building on April 17th 1989. In the 20 years since then the club has grown and prospered to the extent that eighty members were registered with the VKR/AKR for 2008/09.
